Enugu is currently trending for the worst reason — a violent and deadly attack took place on Sunday night in Ikpakpara, Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzo LGA. The attackers, reportedly Fulani herdsmen, left at least 11 people dead and several others missing.
🚁 Helicopter Spotted During the Attack
According to a survivor who spoke to Sahara Reporters, the attackers were dropped near a local market by a helicopter, which hovered in the air throughout the assault. This unusual method left villagers in shock, especially as the community had never experienced tension with Fulani settlers before.

📉 Death Toll Discrepancy
While some media outlets are reporting a death toll of 7, citizens on the ground confirm that at least 11 people were killed — and the number may rise as search efforts continue.
🚨 Ongoing Crisis Since 2021
Since 2021, Eha-Amufu and surrounding areas have faced repeated attacks by armed herdsmen, leading to an estimated 200+ deaths, alongside numerous rape cases, injuries, and displacements. Most residents have now fled the area for their safety.
🔥 Less Than 24 Hours After Benue Massacre
This massacre comes less than a day after another Fulani herdsmen attack in Benue State, where over 200 people were reportedly locked in homes and set ablaze — including women and children. Benue and Enugu share a geographical boundary, increasing fears of wider regional instability.
📢 Nigerians Are Calling for Urgent Action
Citizens are demanding immediate and bold steps from both federal and state governments. The killings are becoming too frequent, and communities are being wiped out.
Now is the time to act. We cannot afford to be silent.
🕯️ Rest in peace to the lost souls. 🙏🏾 Pray for Eha-Amufu. 📣 Speak up. 🛑 Stop the killings.
